0:01 On October 16th, 2025 and I will call to order the special called meeting of the Austin audit and finance
0:08 committee for the Austin City Council.
0:11 Uh, we are meeting in the City Council chambers, which are located in City Hall at 3 0 1 west
0:15 second street, and we have a quorum of the committee present.
0:20 Uh, we are here today to take up one item and that is a, an executive session related
0:28 to the discussion of personnel issues related to the appointment of a new city auditor.
0:34 We will go into an executive session pursuant to 5 5 1 0 7 4 of the texas government code, which, uh, deals
0:41 with personnel matters. If there's no objection, we will go into that executive session hearing, no objection.
0:49 We will go into that executive session at 10:01 am I will come out at the end of the,
0:54 there's not going to be any action, uh, by the committee today.
0:58 So at the end of this executive session, uh, I will return either with all or part of
1:02 the committee or none at all, and, uh, adjourn the meeting after the executive session.

1:19 Um, it's 10 45 in the morning on October 16th, and we have been in an executive session, uh, in
1:25 the executive session pursuant to texas government code section 5 5 1 0, uh, seven four.
1:32 We took up personnel matters related to, uh, the hiring of a city auditor.
1:38 Uh, we are now back in regular session and we have one item and that's the discussion of
1:43 possible recommendation to council regarding candidates to interview for city auditor, uh, pursuant to our, our charter and,
1:50 uh, the charter sets the audit and finance committee as the nominations committee for the entire City Council
1:58 for our city auditor.
2:01 And so, uh, I'll entertain a motion and the motion is made by, uh, the Mayor Pro Tem
2:07 that pursuant to the requirements of the Austin city charter, the audit and finance committee acting as the
2:13 nominations committee of the Austin City Council recommends and nominates the following three people to be interviewed by
2:20 the City Council on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025.
2:25 Spencer bright of seattle, washington, cs george of new york city, and jason avi of Austin, texas.
